Obituary for Bayen, Arthur Richard

Born February 10, 1936, he died quietly November 4th, 2024. He is survived by Jean Bayen (Napolitano), his wife of 69 years. He was a devoted father to his sons Kevin (deceased) and his wife Gale, and Keith and his wife Lisa, and loving grandfather “Grandpa” to his six grandchildren: Matthew Bayen, Michael Bayen and wife Megan, Michael Bendik, Ali Bendik, Cassidy Bayen and husband John, and Hayley Bayen. Grandpa also loved to spend time with his great grandchildren: Kevin John Bayen and Ayden John Bayen.

He grew up in Lodi, New Jersey where he met Jean. They moved to Massapequa in 1962.

Arthur was a proud United States Army Veteran.

He had a varied work career including working in Point Barrow, Alaska on the pipeline. He and Jean owned the Broadway Sweet Shoppe for ten years. He finished his work career as a manager with Nassau County OTB.

A lifetime member of the Massapequa Elks, he was the Exalted Ruler from 1992 to 1993.

Visitation will take place at the Massapequa Funeral Home South Chapel on Thursday, November 7th from 3 to 8 PM.
