Prayers for Barbara and her family.
I grew up across the street and, until our paths diverged after high school, I spent a lot of time with Barbara both inside and outside of school. We spent hours playing Barbie dolls, "potsie" on the sidewalk, jump rope, and kickball with the other children in the neighborhood. In junior high school to high school, we would talk and plan our first-day-of school outfits and wonder what our next steps would be.
Barbara would often spend time with some of the young mothers on the block, helping them take care of the little ones.
As long as I can remember, Barbara always wanted to have her own home and family. In such a crazy world, it is wonderful to hear about someone dedicated to her loved ones. You did it, Barbara - you reached your goal! Rest in peace my childhood friend.
