Carolyn Holzbaur, age 94, of Lloyd Harbor, New York passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Beloved wife, twice widowed, to first husband Edward Block (deceased 1984), and to second husband Louis Holzbaur (deceased 2008). Beloved mother of John (Theresa) Block, cherished grandmother of Taylor and Sean Block. Dearest step-mother to Dennis (Rose) Holzbaur. Beloved aunt to Michael (Fran) Babinski, Reverand Donald Babinski (deceased 2022), and Thomas (Cathy) Babinski, and great aunt to Michael (Maureen), Jennifer (Steven), Jessica, Joseph (Samy), and Christopher. Pre-deceased by her brother, John [Jack] Rippe.
Carolyn spent most of her life in Massapequa Park and was a pillar of the community. Carolyn was beloved by all who knew her, always kind, caring, and willing to help others. She enjoyed dancing, painting, and spending time with family and friends. Carolyn treasured spending time with her grandchildren, Taylor and Sean, and was incredibly proud to be their nana. Carolyn and her husband Louis enjoyed traveling throughout the world and United States, filling over 50 photo albums with memories of their adventures.
Visitation for Carolyn will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Massapequa Funeral Home, South Chapel, 4980 Merrick Road, Massapequa Park, NY 11762. Funeral will be the following day, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 beginning at 10 AM at Massapequa Funeral Home, South Chapel. Prayer service and interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
