May I express my deepest condolences to the family of Dan Scanlon. He was my principal at John Adams HS and although I didn't know him well, I knew enough to recognize that he will be sorely missed. Mr. Scanlon was always cheerful and effusive with his praise and support. Although he retired a few weeks ago, his sudden passing made his leaving so much more permanent. I, and my fellow Spartans, will always remember you Mr. Scanlon. May you rest in peace on the wings of angels.

I met Dan when I started my teaching career in 2015. He was ALWAYS so supportive of me, and I don't know if I would have stayed in teaching with those difficult first two years of getting the hang of things if it weren't for him. He made me feel so valued and appreciated, and it will never be the same without him.

My deepest condolences to the family. It broke my heart to hear of Dan’s passing. I am a paraprofessional at John Adams and he truly was a visionary and a kind and humble man. I pray that God would be a most tangible presence of comfort and strength during this transition of life in Dan’s absence. Psalms 46 tells us that God is a very present help in times of trouble. I pray that psalm over all of you. So very sorry for your loss.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Days later, I'm still in disbelief that Mr. Scanlon is gone. He was my first principal and he always treated me with respect and professionalism. I remember every time we would cross paths in the hallways of John Adams High School, he would always say hello and address you by name, not just me but anyone he cross path with. He was that kind of leader who took the time to know his staff and students. He will definitely be missed. My deepest condolences to the Scanlon family. May God grant you all comfort as we all cherish his memory and legacy. Rest in Peace Mr. Scanlon!

Dear Scanlon Family, Dan was above all a wonderful man which I know you know better than I. I enjoyed working with Dan and talking with about about anything. As a fellow Social Studies teacher, I know Dan had a passion for this nation and our Constitution. But he dedicated his life to helping educate the young, the future of our nation. The world is a better place because of Daniel Scanlon. May this fact and your cherished memories of him ease your suffering at this difficult time. Seth Zuckerman
