It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Massari Khan, a woman who touched the lives of so many with her remarkable kindness, love, and unwavering devotion. Diane was a true light in this world, finding joy and hope even in the darkest of times.

Diane was born in Brooklyn and moved to Massapequa with her family when she was 6 years old. She was a loving daughter to her parents Theresa and Eddie; sister to her siblings Mary, Eddie, and Billy; mother to her four children, Joe, Sarah, Adam, and Daniel; proud grandmother to Lucina, Elena, and Nadia; and cherished friend to her community. She was the rock of her family — which was never clearer than in her tireless care and advocation for her two children with disabilities. This steadfast dedication to her family will always be remembered as one of the countless examples of Diane’s selflessness.

Diane also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life — frequent visits to the beach, her morning exercise classes, delicious food, and long drives and dancing with her boys. She lived with optimism and good humor, frequently making those around her laugh while also acting as a constant support and trusted confidant. Diane will also be remembered for her cooking, most notably her lasagna.

Though she may no longer be with us, Diane’s legacy lives on through those she touched. She will always be remembered for her strength, wisdom, and grace. May her soul rest in peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in the memories they hold so dear.

I've just learned of Diane's passing; I don't know anything about what happened, as we've been out of touch the past few years. Diane was a wonderful friend and a true, selfless person. She always amazed me with how she cared for her brothers when they were babies, and her mother when she was ill, and her beautiful children, always. Even when I tried to help her she would not accept the help. I am at a loss for words. So many memories to ponder. God's blessings to her family and children.
