Dolores F Fox passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at her home in Massapequa Park, NY on October 16, 2023. Dolores was born September 24, 1931 in Queens, NY to Alfonso Marandino and Louise Cinque Marandino.
Dolores was raised in Astoria and met the love of her life Thurston Alexander Fox. They married September 6,1953 and after a brief stint in Atlanta, they returned to NY where they would raise their five wonderful children on Long Island. With the early passing of Thurston, she became a realtor to provide for herself and her children. She was recognized by the Long Island Board of Realtors in 2017 as one of the longest standing realtors on the island. She was a partner in Follet Real Estate for 40 years serving the Great South Bay Area. She was interviewed on national tv as she was a realtor with the “Amityville Horror House” listing. She found great joy in helping people find homes within this community. Over the years, Dolores was a Sunday School teacher, a Girl Scout troop leader and always active in the church community. Dolores loved being active in her community and cared deeply for others. She always provided an ear and her best advice. Her favorite saying was that the worst thing you can do is to think negatively. She was a strong protector of those she loved.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Louise Marandino, her husband, Thurston A Fox, her daughter Deborah A Fox, sisters Marie Painter, Dorothy Forte and Janet Koenig. She will be missed by her children Louise Thompson (John), Glen Fox (Maria), Robert Fox (Maryann), Caroline Mitchell (Jeff) as well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
