Domenico D’Armi, beloved husband of Luisa, died on May 30th, 2020. Domenico is also the father to Antonella and Nadia and Nonno to Nicolas, Austin and Luca. He is loved deeply and will be missed dearly.
Anyone in the neighborhood knew Domenico’s love for gardening and the beautiful plants and vegetables that he was always willing to share. We will never forget the joy and pride he had each year when the plants grew and he was able to give family and friends bags full of produce that he cultivated.
Additionally, he loved to play bocce and has won or has come in second place several times in the local tournaments in Massapequa Park. Domenico was actually instrumental, along with some other Italian men in the neighborhood, to get bocce courts built in some of the Massapequa parks.
Once his health deteriorated and he could no longer play bocce, Domenico enjoyed watching professional wrestling. He shared the love of wrestling with his grandchildren.
As is apparent, family has always been a priority. A family tradition was Sunday dinner, which ensured that the family was together at least once a week no matter how busy everyone’s schedule was. Also, Domenico has always been there for anyone in need. He was so used to being there for everyone, that he even offered help when he was no longer physically capable of doing so.
