Dominick “Dom” DiMango passed away August 9, 2024. He was born 4/27/1943 the youngest son of Dominick and Emilia DiMango. Dom grew up and went to school in Brooklyn, NY.
Dom was survived by his wife Augusta DiMango, his son Mark DiMango and his wife Esther of Stanhope, NJ, his daughter Danielle Maringo and her husband Henry of Seaford, NY, his grandchildren Dylan Maringo and Gianna Maringo and his brother Anthony DiMango and his wife Sheila. He was also an uncle to eight nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Dom and Augusta met in Brooklyn where they lived during the first years of their marriage. In the early 1970’s they moved to West Hempstead, NY where they shared their lives together. Dom worked at Arland Printing in Manhattan and was well known in the printing and paper industry.
The joy of Dom’s life was being with and babysitting his grandchildren, whom he always enjoyed spending time with. He also loved riding his bicycle, hunting, fishing and reading his books. He was a member of the Freeport Hudson Anglers fishing club. He also liked going to the beach and would spend many days in a cabana at Nickerson Beach Park in Lido Beach.
The most important thing in Dom’s world was his family. He would do anything for them and always put them before himself. No matter who he was with, there would always be laughing, joking and playing around.
Dom will be remembered as a loyal and devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an amazing uncle and a wonderful friend.
The viewing will take place at Massapequa Funeral Home South Chapel on Sunday August 11, 2024 from 3pm to 9pm.
The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in Massapequa on Monday August 12, 2024 at 10:45am.
He will be buried at St. Raymond Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
