Dorothy grew up in and was a long-time resident of Rosedale, Queens and then of Ridge, NY. She graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in 1947.
Dorothy had a strong religious devotion and was a long-time member of St. Clare’s Church in Rosedale, and then St. Mark’s Church in Ridge NY, attending daily Mass and regularly praying the rosary. She was devoted to her family as was shown by her visiting her husband every day for 2 ½ years when he was in Stony Brook VA Nursing Home. She enjoyed quilting, reading, was the caretaker of the library in her retirement community and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She could also recognize and name the make and model of all cars on the market! Her consistent advice for anyone facing problems or worries was “Say Three Hail Marys!”
Visitation will be held at the Massapequa Funeral Home South Chapel on Monday, 2/15/21 from 3-7 pm. A Roman Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, 2/16/21 at 11:15 am at St. Frances de Chantel Church in Wantagh, NY. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
