Sending my prayers up to heaven again today. I can not believe that you are gone a full month already. As your oldest daughter, Linda, I learned so much about life at an early age. You prepped me for hard work which is why I was the successful special education teacher for the Massapequa Schools for over 36 yrs. You were proud that I had the same work ethics that you had as a butcher for the Great A&P supermarkets on Long Island. When I received my college degrees, you told me how proud you were of me. My life as a teacher happened because of your encouragement.Thank you for loving me.You were a wonderful loving husband to our mother, Dorothy. You cared for her until the end and never complained. It is now your turn to rest. The Lord has you both in the palms of his hands. You were an original member and a faithful man at St. David's Lutheran Church. I continue my work there as well in the preschool, choir and assistant minister because this world needs to hear the Lord's message. That day, we gave you back to the Lord and were proud that you received a military burial as a veteran. We will carry you and Mom with us. Your granddaughter Sara is heartbroken. She looks for you in every flower and every bird that flies above as you loved nature. You were a role model to us all and I promise to keep the Petersen legacy going as long as I live. No one can compare to you...always with me from now until eternity. Love you Dad forever! Tell Mom we miss and love her too! Your, Linda

You were a wonderful warm person who loved his family so. You will be missed terribly, but Dottie is happy to have you home with her, once again.
