It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Anthony Cartesio of Massapequa, formerly of Lynbrook on November 29, 2024 at the age of 92.
Born in Brooklyn, New York to Carmela and Nicola, he was raised with his brothers Stevie, Petie and Anthony and sister Sadie.
Frank was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. An accomplished carpenter by trade, there was nothing he couldn’t create or repair. It would be hard to find a home of a family member or friend that he did not have a hand in improving. He did so with pleasure and great pride. He was a cherished neighbor often seen sitting on the porch with a smile on his face as he was greeted by one and all walking by and stopping to pass some time. Frank loved to dance and brought many family members and friends on the dance floor at weddings and parties, Of all of his dance partners, his absolute favorite was his beautiful wife of over 71 years. He could often be heard singing or humming a favorite tune with his melodious voice. He enjoyed old movies and musicals and was a “Trekkie” since the 1960s when the show began. He was a car buff throughout his life and enjoyed his years sitting atop his Harley-Davidson. He loved to cook and was famous for his rice balls among many other delicious dishes.
But by far the favorite part of his life was being with his family. He never smiled larger than when one of his children, grandchildren, family members or friends walked through the door. His love for his family was infinite and unconditional. Each of his grandchildren was his pride and joy and “Poppy” reveled in their every accomplishment.
He is survived by his cherished wife Rae, son Nicholas, daughter-in-law Connie, daughter Debbi, son-in-law Gene, daughter Francine, son-in-law Carl, grandson Eric and his wife Samantha, granddaughter Jaclyn, granddaughter Micaela and her husband Greg, grandson Mark and his fiancé Nicole, granddaughter Carli, great grandson Frankie, “kid” brother Anthony and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Frank will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family, for his kindness to others and his smile that lit up a room. He will be missed beyond measure and cherished and loved forever.
