George Bove of Massapequa Park, passed away on July 15, 2024. Beloved husband and Best Friend to Carolyn, and loving father to Elizabeth. George was born and raised in Jackson Heights, Queens. He graduated from Newtown High School. He started off working at Northern Lanes in Jackson Heights, where he met and married the love of his life Carolyn, on July 22, 1979. He began his career in Consolidated Edison on March 17, 1975 and retired from there as a supervisor in the Gas Operations Department after 30 years. He and his wife moved out to Massapequa Park in February of 1983 and welcomed his pride and joy, Elizabeth in December of 1985. While working at Northern Lanes, he became an avid bowler, and excelled at the sport. He was an all around sports enthusiast, with his favorite teams being the NY Yankees, NY Rangers and the NY Giants. The last several years, he and his wife became snow birds, traveling down to Delray Beach, Florida for the winter months, where they had many wonderful friends and activities to keep busy. George will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.

It all started with a snowball fight in the Northern Lanes parking lot in 1969; George getting walloped by a bunch of us snotnoses from 76th St. Soon we were all friends, and joining George and Carolyn in the various leagues.
George was the nicest guy from the start and treated us "kids" well, bringing us into his circle. Many close and enduring friendships started with George and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Big hugs to Carolyn and Elizabeth - may his memory always be a blessing.
