Barbara and met Jim teaching a basic boating class 30 years ago for the Jones Beach Power Squardon. Since then Jim was a friend, instructor and mentor to education department at JBPS. For that I will always cherish the many boating memories, classes and stories. May his boat always float upright and his compass course be magnetic (TVMDC)

I am very sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I enjoyed having him for a neighbor. Even though our relationship was limited to brief conversations outside our homes, it was easily apparent during those chats what a good guy Jim was - my thoughts are with his family.
I am so sorry to hear about losing Jim. Truly a great man. I met Jim through our business interactions at Henegan Construction. He was always fair and honest (and a pretty good golfer too). My fondest memory happened in Massapequa, where I too live. I ran into Jim several years ago at the King Kullen as I briskly made my way to the check out lane with a box of diapers in one arm and a 12-pack in the other. Jim slowed me down, said hello, and told me to enjoy these times, as he smiled ear to ear. Slowing down is hard to do sometimes, but I try to heed Jim's advice as often as possible. God bless you Jim. Thanks for advice.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal. May Jim's love guide you and heal your broken hearts. RIP, sweet Jimbo

Dear Eleanor & Family,
We are so saddened to learn of Jim's passing. What a good person and such a wonderful friend. We met at Sandalfoot on Sanibel several years ago and spent many hours together at poolside and dining in Sanibel's finest restaurants. We talked with Jim & Eleanor often via phone and enjoyed those moments "together". Our thoughts and prayers are for you, Eleanor, and your family. We send our love your way.

To Christine and her family, my heart is with you.
Hello Jim,
I know you can see and hear me.
Your life has just begun. Always looked foward to seeing you. Your company and our conversations which transpired between us were greatly enjoyed and will never be forgotten. You were one of the most rare real man I ever met. You accomplished so much and all of it was so great. You can now do anything your heart desires. You will always be in my heart just as you always were. God bless you as the Angels in Heaven rejoice your coming home. In my prayers you will always be. Were only here for a short time which results it us being together forever. Till we meet again, from fishermen to fishermen, love you always your friend, John Castronovo
