It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey Carl Ridley, 60, announce his passing on February 8, 2025 after a brief illness.
Jeff was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and raised in Stratford. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fairfield University. After that he attended Emory University and received a Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology.
He then went on to what ultimately became his life’s work of helping others. He spent time working with the elderly and developmentally disabled before living his true calling as a chaplain. His last role was at Good Shepherd Hospice.
Jeff welcomed and loved everyone he encountered and was known as a “Brother” by many.
Jeff was an active member of Community United Methodist Church of Massapequa. Jeff loved spending time with his family especially his young daughter Vivian.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Cherie(nee Dewey) and his daughter Vivian.
He is also survived by his sister, Molly Soter.
Viewings will be held at Massapequa Funeral Home(South Chapel) on Wednesday, February 12th, 2-4pm and 7pm-9pm.
Jeff’s funeral will be held at Community United Methodist Church of Massapequa on Thursday, February 13th at 10am.
