Kayla had just moved to Florida 4 weeks prior to live with her best friend Erika and start a journey they had planned for 10 years. Kayla was never happier than she had been in the last 6 months.
She was born on August 31, 1999 and diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes on December 22, 2000. Diabetes was all she ever knew. She attended St. Rose of Lima Elementary School followed by Massapequa High School. She attended Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia graduating with a degree in Graphic Arts – she loved being in the warmer climates and why Florida was her dream destination. Kayla then went on to get a Master’s Degree in UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).
She loved her New York Rangers hockey team and attending games as well as watching them with her family.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
