Lenny had the smile of an angel, warm, friendly and everlasting with a handshake like a Saint, sincere and always with a smile as he looked you in the eye (My favorite memory). I met Lenny in 2021 in Heritage Bay, Naples, Fl and what an honor to had met such a wonderful man. We played golf together, went to dinner together and could Lenny hit that ball with his perfect swing! The Lord is getting the very best there is to offer and Lenny will be missed by so many. May he rest in peace. GOD bless you Lenny.......
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Judge James P Flanagan (retired) left a message on December 2, 2024:
My deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of one of the best attorneys to ever grace a Suffolk County courtroom. Lenny and I met as adversaries in 1986 and quickly became stalwart friends. We still opposed each other with all the skill we possessed (and he had much more ability than I or most other attorneys possessed) and we continued our friendship when I entered the court system and then became a judge. He honored me by often asking my opinion as to the value of a case but after I gave it, he announced that when he wanted to know the low number on his case, he would ask Flanagan. His last trial in front of me was a collapsing fence case and he gave the other attorneys a tutorial on how to pick a jury and try a case. His family and their sports were a frequent topic of conversation and he and I shared a devotion to our grandchildren. May God rest you Lenny and grant you eternal life. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. Rest assured that you did make a difference for good in this world.

Sending my deepest sympathy to an amazing family. I have so many memories from our road trips and games, rides to practice, and dinners. Lauren and I played basketball together and her dad was her biggest fan. Not only was he her number one fan, but he supported each and every one of us, being genuinely delighted in our successes, while offering good advice when things didn’t go the way we hoped. Lenny was, for all intents and purposes, the originator of the “Dad Joke.” He had one-liners that made everyone chuckle, sometimes to the embarrassment of his kids, but it was always in good fun. Every time I order artichokes, to this day, I think, “Might of choked Artie…” Thank you for sharing your dad with us over the years and know how much he meant to all of us who were lucky enough to be your teammates and friends. The photo I shared is a picture of a picture that I took in 1999 when Lenny came to pick Lauren up from a pasta party at my house. It is in my basketball photo album, where it will always remain.

I came across this sad news by chance-my father in law is also recently deceased and I found this when looking for his obituary. Back in 2001, I was the victim of a hit and run accident and Lenny Tartamella was my attorney. I will forever be grateful to him for helping me through one of the hardest times in my life. He was strong and courageous but also kind and compassionate. I felt so safe knowing I had him on my side and I will never forget him. My deepest condolences to his family, may he rest in peace.

Sorry for flipping the canoe when I was 8, but it created an amazing lifelong memory among many others that I have of Lenny. Only laughter and joy.
