Linda Ellen Schiede, 78, died peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021, at her home in Copiague Harbor, with her family by her side. She was born in Mineola, New York on January 29, 1943, the beloved daughter of the late William and Eleanor Morgenroth. Linda spent her childhood in Floral Park, New York. She was a 1961 graduate of Sewanhaka High School where she earned a Certificate of Membership from the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools. Linda met her future husband, Leonard, at a church social. The two married in 1964 and settled in Farmingdale to raise their family. Linda dedicated her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of her church, St. David’s Lutheran Church of Massapequa Park. She enjoyed family gatherings, family photographs, cruising, shopping, knitting, and especially tap dancing with her friends, “The Happy Tappers”. She was a good friend to many and touched their lives with her love, warmth and generous spirit. Linda was an enthusiastic Mets fan who became interested in baseball watching with her father. Linda is survived by her devoted husband Leonard W. Schiede, children: Daniel Schiede (Mary Margaret) of Massapequa, James Schiede (Lisa) of East Northport, Debora Martin (Joseph) of Hainesport, New Jersey, Gary Schiede (Mary) of Commack, 9 grandchildren Peter and Bobbie Lynn Schiede, Megan and Johnathan Schiede, Maya, Ty and Gavin Martin, Kaitlyn and Liam Schiede. Linda is also survived by her sisters Karen Loewe and Marsha Leprohon and several nieces and a nephew. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to:
