11/26/29-1/4/23 Louise Pette Catalano Aka Lead Foot Lou, Lou Lou, Lady Louise, Zia Lou, Nan, Nanny, Nana, and MOM❤️… Born one month after the Crash of 1929, the start of the Great Depression. As a child of first generation Italian immigrants, she’d experience the highs and lows of the Melting Pot and, like so many, assimilate. At age 3, she suffered life threatening burns, and was hospitalized for over a month; but her will- even then- was strong. As a kid she listened to fireside chats, then helped with the war effort. Married Dad after the War and was a pioneer in the workforce as a New York Telephone switchboard operator- you know the kind that plugged wires into the switchboard!? One ringa dingy… She’d go on to do the what women typically did after War II and raise a family of 4 in the suburbs, but was not the typical woman in any other way! Ahead of her time actually, always wanting to play with the boys. And play she did! She had some competitive edge back in the day! Had a 183 bowling average, as well as a notable golf swing. She loved Scrabble and was blessed to play (almost daily) with her Sister, Kids and Grandkids. She also loved to win at Bingo-even if she only won her dollar back….? She was STRONG!! Sometimes headstrong…She was funny. She spoke her mind (sometimes a little too much??‍♀️?❤️) but she also taught us to speak up if something do was not right. She taught us to love God and family. Her family was her EVERYTHING. 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren (+baby Boy Pette due in April!) and was blessed with 2 great son in laws and 2 great daughter-in-law’s . She was a fighter until the end but she is finally breathing easy again, surrounded by all her heavenly angels….. We will miss the many nicknames she had for us….. Juigy Beeper Breezy Tomoose Keekala Sarafina Tor Tor her beloved golden retriever, Dilly And a true fan favorite, Dads nickname Tweety ❤️ If you happened to escape the nickname, fear not! She surely called you a litany of other peoples names but eventually……eventually, she’d get the right one….clearly many of us now know that trait is hereditary!!! Her life was full and she was truly loved by so many! While she will be sorely missed, we have so many great memories we will cherish forever ? RIP lady…we all love you ??
