Marcel Fakury, 87, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025.
Born on Feburary 2, 1938, in Haifa, Palestine, Marcel was the fourth of five children born to Elias and Minerva Fakhoury.
Marcel worked as a photographer where he was known for his eye for beauty and capturing the perfect moment. Outside of work, he pursued his passion and love of music. He would sing any chance he got from the choir at church to any car ride with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Josephine Fakury; their children, Carolyn (Coco) Fakury partner of Charbel Tannous, Michelle (Misho) Awad partner of Ray Awad, Elias (Lilo) Fakury partner of Carolina Fakury, and Jiries (Juju) Fakury; also survived by six grandchildren: Josephina, Nicholas, Kristina, Marcel, Santino, and Silvana. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Maurice and Michele.
His wake will be held in 2 sessions on Friday, June 6th, 2025. The first session will be from 2pm-4pm and the second session will be from 6pm-9pm.
A mass will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at 10:30 am at St. James Roman Catholic Church, located at, 80 Hicksville Rd, Seaford, NY 11783. This mass will be followed by the Committal Service at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, located at 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735
Marcel’s strength, sense of humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
