Mildred Catherine Jones GoddardMillie Goddard passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2019. Millie was born on February 27, 1921 in Brooklyn. She was the eldest sibling to her brothers Ted and Dick, both predeceasing her. Her parents were Louise Bumstead and Richard Jones. She was the beloved wife of Wilbur H. Goddard known as Bill, who passed away in 1983. Millie was the loving aunt of Megan Jones, Christoper Jones, Ian Jones, Brian Jones, Kimberly Jones, Rich Jones, Neil Brannon, Peggy Williams and Deb Sundheim. Aunt Millie is also survived by 9 great nieces & nephews and 9 great great nieces & nephews  She was the cherished friend to many within her church and community.Visitation for Millie will be Thursday, September 26th at the Massapequa Funeral Home, North Chapel from 4-8pm. Her funeral service will be Friday, September 27th at the Massapequa Reformed Church at 10 am. Burial will be Monday, September 30th at 10 am at the Pinelawn Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Millie to the Massapequa Reformed Church, 302 Ocean Ave. Massapequa, NY 11758 or to the PEO, Philanthropic Educational Organization Chapter F Massapequa, C/O Carol Hartzell, 87 Pittsburgh Ave. Massapequa, NY 11758.

Millie was my Aunt... my father Ted’s sister, and she was the embodiment of kindness, goodness and love. She lived a life of caring for others, spreading joy, doing good in her church and community, and making the world a better place. She was well loved by all our family and she will be missed by everyone. Thank you and God bless to everyone that helped her and supported her in her latter years. She has gone to a better place, and we hope to see her again.

In December, 2017 my sister Carol and my daughter, Amanda and I went to see Millie at the Gurwin. This is such a special picture to me because Millie was such a special person to our family. God took home a special angel and I know she will be watching over us. Love, Barbara

My grandmother, Helen, shared a room with Mildred at Gurwin nursing home. Mildred was always such a kind, pleasant, and smart lady for her age. She would say “Hi” when wheeling my grandmother into the room. Just having a few exchanges with her, and seeing this wonderful roommate every week is such a loss. I will miss her very much and so will my mother, and her roommate, Helen. Godbless Mildred. Rest In Peace with your husband.
