On this first day of 2023, Our Mom Nancy passed away from natural causes. Our family, while sad about her departure, holds great appreciation of her long, notable life and her effect on those she touched. Born Annunziata Cano in Naples Italy, Nancy fled the devastating effects of World War 2 and came to America where she met her husband Jack Hipper. Together they brought their children Ida and Harry into this world. After working hard in the garment industry to chase the American dream, they settled in Queens, New York. Nancy spent most of her spare time playing tennis and golf. This became her passion which she held onto until a year before her passing. She is survived by her children Ida, Harry and his wife Marissa and her grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Stephanie and Emma. She will now join her sister Iole, Brother Riccardo, mother Emma and Father Vincenzo in the heavens above. In lieu of flowers, the family would be most appreciative of your loving thoughts prayers at this time.

You've influenced my life in many ways, earliest memories of roasting peppers, cutting the perfect x on chestnuts. You loved life and especially your children but i knew a simple present of persimmons was all i needed to win your heart, time after time! Nancy was a very special kind of woman. She was a God and Faith filled woman. Having spent many moments with her over the last 10 years or so, I have lots of memories. The memories I have are always of Nancy either dancing, drinking her wine(red or rose) and mostly always with a smile on her face. She was kind to me as I was to her. I always made sure to look out for her even when she would slap my arm away telling me she got this. Nancy lived Life. The Nancy I knew never had any hardships as I was told she had in her past. The Nancy I knew and grew to love only enjoyed each and every day and loved Life to the fullest. Having lived to 98 plus years in the spirit Nancy did leaves me with a smile on my face. Nobody did it better in spirit, Faith, love and with a gusto like no other. I will miss you here on earth but I know you are now at peace with a Lord we both believe in. Fly and soar high with the other angels and every now and then shine down on me for I’ll miss you always.

Life comes full circle. From the beginning you learn and grow and at the end you get to leave a mark on everyone you’ve encountered along the way. If you’ve taught me nothing else you’ve taught me that no matter how hard life gets you never give up. You pull a card upside down don’t dwell and cry about it, flip the card and make the best of it.
