Norma passed away on August 27, 2024, in Naples, Florida. She was born on April 24, 1935, in New York City. Norma was a beloved wife and mother and a friend to all. She loved people and found joy in spending time with her family and kept up faithfully with her friends despite distances involved. You could always expect a phone call on your birthday as she so dearly desired to spread her good wishes and love to everyone.
After graduating high school in Manhattan, she attended Hunter College where she studied to be an administrative assistant. It was with this start that she ultimately became the Assistant to the Dean in Pharmacology at Saint John’s University. She flourished there and was known to her friends and co-workers as being very kind, hardworking and reliable.
After college Norma was introduced to “Ronnie” Bissetta, the love of her life. They married in 1959 and within a few years moved to Floral Park, Queens to raise their beautiful boys. Their life together was filled with love, camping with the cousins, and band. Music filled the house. She also was a fabulous cook, always making dinner from scratch and the last to come to the table. Serving put a smile on her face.
Once retired, Ron and Norma purchased a condo in Florida and loved spending part of the cold winters there. Norma loved the heat and walks on the beach. Years after Ron passed, Norma permanently moved to Naples, to once again enjoy the warm weather she loved.
Norma is pre-deceased by Ron, her husband of over fifty years. She is survived by her sister Delia; her two sons and their wives Ronald and Kelly, and Robert and Teresa; four grandchildren, Lauren and Michael, and Melanie and Nicholas and a great granddaughter, Charlotte; plus, many nieces and nephews whom she loved and touched deeply.
Norma will be dearly missed by her family and friends. May her soul rest in peace.
