Noele and family,
I am so saddened by this loss. Phil was such a wonderful mentor to so many kids growing up in Levittown. He was a big part of my life in junior high school and high school. Lacrosse brought us together. It was during that time that I got to meet you and the boys. My heart is heavy right now.
I’m not in New York right now, so I will miss the services. Will stop by when I return. My thoughts are with you, may Phil Rest in Peace 🙏🏻
Coaches Wolfe was my Salk gym teacher and wrestling coach. He taught me fair play, sportsmanship and hard work. He was funny and could tease with the best of them. A tough but nice man. He will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Our deepest sympathy for the Wolfe family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time Love to all

As a father of a 17yr old committed to play lacrosse in college this year, there is only one person that I can thank for introducing me to the game of lacrosse, Coach Wolfe. He drove to my house to drop off a lacrosse stick the day I got cut from baseball in 7th grade. He was like a 2nd dad to myself and many of my friends. See ya on the other Coach!! RIP my man!!
So saddened to see Phil Wolfe had passed. He was great to work with at Salk. He made the day fun. The kids would flock around him as they'd love his attention and even nicknames. Rest in peace and prayers for your family .
Mr. Wolfe - My first lacrosse & wrestling coach at Salk. Little did I know at the time it would kickstart my love for lacrosse and the influence he would have on my life as I later began a 20+ year collegiate coaching career. I can still hear him calling me Davey and mental midget or asking me if my brother was an only child -- all of it done with love. Very thankful to have had him in my life though it was for only a short window almost 40 years ago. "2 pipe shots and a goal...by the goalie"...he must have told us that story 100 times. My condolences to his loved ones. Please know he had an incredible impact on lives.
I am so sad to hear this news , Honeydew was one of my favorite customers in IGA , he would always come on my line and tease me, what a fun wonderful man .. my condolences to the entire Wolfe Famiy . He will be truly missed .
For a man who has given to so many, his love, devotion, athleticism, and the list goes onHonoring an icon in his community, Phil Wolfe.

"Uncle Phil" - you told me, "nobody had more fun than your father and I" so, on that note, some laughs to remember. Oct 1991 - East Lansing visiting Jimmy Mich/Mich St. game. Only you could roll into town with no tixx and within mins of checking into the hotel, meet a stranger to give you 6 "50 yd line seats!" The next day, Jimmy and I were in the correct seats - great ones behind the end zone- but when we didn't show next to you, you thought Jimmy and I were still tailgating and missing the game. At halftime, we figured out you, Aunt Noele, and my parents were in the wrong seats! Of course, only you could end up few rows off the field, 50 yd line, biggest game of year, AND nobody asked you to move!! Shorter one - i was 8 years old, back seat of your car, leaving ski house driveway on way to Jiminy... you stopped the car for me to get out and puke...while i was bent over losing my guts, you yelled, "hurry up what did you lose a nickel?!!" Then we skied all day... "A Christmas to Remember" i think it was 2010, we had spent almost 40 Christmases together. (I am glad we made it to 50 - as Bob O said, the best food and wine and comedy including John having to give Louie the Heimlich! i know that is making you chuckle) So when i woke up that Christmas morning, how could i not visit you at Columbia Presbyterian? You had the brain tumor but did not look sick - even though a couple days prior it caused a seizure and took 6 burly fireman like John to get you in the ambulance. I paged the doctor on call and found out you were not having surgery the next day. I asked the doc if you could get outta there and come back. Your eyes sparkled and lit up like a child's on Christmas. Discharge orders were written fast and you were so excited you did not even change into your clothes. By the time i got the car, you were outside waiting in your hospital gown and nothing else! We made it in record time to John's house and PAPA walked in like Santa Claus to all the grandkids surprise. When i saw you in what would be your last hospitalization, you still had your humor. You asked the nurse her name. She told us. You said, "Come on, tell us your real name!" But even though you rallied the days i was there, when i saw you 2 days later, i knew i wasn't getting you out this time. You kept saying you wanted to go home. Your determination (like you coached your players) and Billy's and the family... miraculously let you leave us from Roosevelt Ave...Within an hour of hearing you passed, i looked up at Ruthie's and remembered you going to Easter mass there in 1985. Growing up i wanted to marry an "Aunt Noele." For 3 weeks, I warned Aleks about your humor before she met you that Xmas. To this day, i still think she married me for the Wolfe Christmases and to be part of the Wolfe family. When we brought Nate over for the 1st time, your love and joy was as if you had another grandson - so much so that even when i saw you the 2nd to last time, you spoke about Nate and life and fatherhood for me. Thanks for the laughs, the memories including trips to fraternity, the gifts and shirts... I sure do miss you. Love, your 4th son, "Little Schmuck!"
I had the privilege of spending my holidays with the Wolfe family for 15 years. Friends, family, and neighbors would stop by and it was always the best of times. We drink a lot of wine, ate fantastic prime rib and laughed at each other‘s jokes and stories. I am blessed to have spent that time with you. ❤️
My memory of you will live on through this tree as it grows every year.

It breaks my heart to know my childhood best friend is no longer hear. My life is full of memories with Phil, Noel and the children. Our many trips to Fire Island with the boats and families. My last time with Coach Wolfe and Noel
Little did I know that Coach Wolfe would “follow in my shadow” for most of my adult life. When life would get tough, very tough, Coach Wolfe would always come to the forefront of my mind and encourage me, root for me even, in his own special way. There is no embellishment in my saying that he helped save my life on a few occasions. I owe him so much for those “few” days in his presence. If I end up having the impact on another life like he did mine, I will have lived a great life. Coach, you will be missed but only for a while and I look forward to seeing you again one day. #40
Coach you were a Levittown Legend. I bid you safe sailing on your next journey and we all bid you farewell🖐🇺🇸
