Phyllis Herrmann passed away on November 30, 2019 at the age of 86.

Phyllis was born in Jamaica, Queens to loving parents, Frank and Helen Francioso on October 22, 1933.

Phyllis was predeceased in death by her husband Edward (Bucky) Herrmann, and by her siblings Madeline Sofarelli, Ralph Francioso and Angel Cunneen. She is survived by her children Barbara Borst, Diane McGarty and Lorraine Herrmann; her grandchildren Edward McGarty, Alissa Nunes, Brian, Stephanie and Lauren Jarmolow; great grandchildren Logan McGarty and Emilia Nunes, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Phyllis was a devout Catholic, active in the church as a Eucharistic minister, Pre-Cana instructor and Religious Education teacher for over 30 yrs. who found comfort in her faith.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Carillon Nursing home in Huntington.

Phyllis will be missed dearly. She was such a sweet lady. I always looked forward to the conversations and really having the chance to get to know and help her in her day to day while she resided at Carillon. I will never forget the many times she encouraged me and her witty personality. She had such a positive way about her. Keeping her family in my prayers and close to my heart.

My deepest sympathy to your family! I have nothing but fond memories of Aunt Phyllis. She had such strong faith and is now resting peacefully in the arms God. In lieu of flowers, a donation has been to the American Kidney Fund. Love you all....

In the past year I have gotten very close with phyllis. She had this way about her that made you very happy to see her and spend time with her . Like every italian grandma I have ever known she always tried to feed me pastries and share the love her family brought her with me. She was spunky and fresh at times but loving always and always willing to stand up for what she believed was right. I will miss her terribly she just brought another spark into my life one that will be very hard to be forgotten. I love you phyllis may u rest in peace.
