Dr. Marose was the best professor I ever had. Devastated is not a strong enough word to describe I how feel. His passing broke my heart.

Bob and I were roommates at the Universary of Notre Dame for our junior and senior years in 1959 & 1960. Bob was always a gentleman and an excellent student. Sadly we lost track of each other down through the years. My condolences to his family. Ed Hanna

Bob was a teacher, a friend and partner. I learned more from him than I ever knew from any one given teacher. This was driven home when we went to a business meeting that was probably 20 steps over my head. Bob looked at me for an answer and I was surprised that the words that spot it out of my mouth. Well they were the right words in all the right places. When I went to Hofstra he won teacher of the year a few years in a row. His class was so exciting that those people who took rocks for jocks (geology) took his class too. There was no easy grade, and nothing was held back from the class. His words to me in his final year at Hofstra were, "I have 65 A's 2 B's, 2C's an a D in advanced quantitative analysis. He said that the Dean felt that the grades were just too easy. It was truly his style the way he would say to students "I see the snowflakes falling down." He pivoted , Pun intended, as he always did. His jackets were always full of chalk. He did the right thing even when it was the hard thing. I could go on and on about missile guidance systems and business systems for insurance companies that were way ahead of their time. For those who didn't know Bob, the years I worked with him, we worked for such companies as Chase Manhattan Bank, the New York City patrolman's benevolent Association, CIBA Geigy and others
