Robert F. Cincotta of Wilmington, NC formerly of Massapequa Park, NY passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2025.
Bob was born in Brooklyn NY. He attended and received degrees from Pace University, Adelphi University and Brooklyn College.
Bob was a great son, brother, husband, friend and coach. He was funny, inquisitive, and kind.
Bob loved to learn, travel and teach. He worked as a Sports Ambassador for People to People, accompanying student athletes to Germany, England, Australia and New Zealand. With Major League Baseball International, he traveled and coached in Italy and Belgium. He taught in China and Poland during his summer breaks. Bob’s dream was to travel to all 7 continents. He had visited six continents and had a planned to travel to Antarctica on an expedition ship in March. He and his wife, Margaret, loved to vacation in the Caribbean as well as Europe.
Bob worked for Hempstead Public School for 30 years where he served as a Teacher, Coach and Athletic Director. Bob’s passion was coaching. He coached many sports while at Hempstead High School and was very proud of the “Grand Slam Classics”. He coached bowling and football at Nassau Community College, Women’s Bowling at Adelphi University, and Women’s Bowling at Molloy University. He recently was the recipient of the Long Island USBC Association Long Island Bowling Hall of Fame.
Bob was a dedicated member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary on Long Island for many years and recently in Wilmington, NC where he and his wife retired. He enjoyed meeting members of the community, providing education for boating safety and serving as an Aux Chef when needed.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Margaret M. Cincotta, and his brothers Anthony and Michael. He is survived by his wife Margaret Cincotta; his sister Margaret P. Cincotta; brothers- in-law Monsignor Christopher Heller and Michael Hiliadis (Lisa); nephew Caleb (Joanna); niece Bonnie (Drew)and his great nephew Fitz; his best friend Paul Radman (Joan) as well as many cousins.
Bob made friends and connections wherever he went. He believed that being kind and connecting to as many people as possible was part of the adventure and journey. He will be missed by all who loved him.
