It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert M. Dougherty of Massapequa, New York on November 26, 2024 at 69 years of age. Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eileen; his daughter Devon; his new son-in-law Joe; and numerous loving family members and friends.
Bob lived life to the fullest, but unfortunately that life was too short. He was a devoted husband and one-of-a-kind Dad. Whether watching his little girl dance, or inspiring her inquisitive mind, he always encouraged her to chase her dreams. He was a man of unbelievable strength, perseverance, and kindness.
Bob, or Doc to his friends and coworkers, lived a life full of adventure. Whether it was on a racquetball court, a soccer field, a golf course, or a ski slope, he was always ready to share his expertise. His knowledge of sports and trivia entertained all who would listen, especially his daughter.
He loved to travel, and while his journeys took him around the world, one of his favorite destinations was Disney World. His countless number of visits gave him so many cherished memories.
The world just won’t be the same without him in it.
If you are considering a donation, the family requests a contribution to the National Park Foundation in memory of Bob and his love of the outdoors. This foundation is the official charity of America’s National Parks, helping to preserve these precious spaces for future generations.
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. And, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
