Tommy was an irreplaceable son, brother, uncle, and friend. Some people knew him as a man of a few words, but those who knew him well and loved him knew his sense of humor and how full of life he was. He loved the Giants, the Islanders, heavy metal concerts, his work, and his workContinue Reading

My Deepest Condolences to the O’Connor Family. Tom was a 100% solid, funny, great person that I had the pleasure of working with for 19 years. Tom would always step-up and go the extra mile to help the team no matter how hard the circumstances or difficult the challenge and accomplish the job with great dry wit humor and a smile on his face. I will greatly miss Tom - Rest In Peace my friend.

R.I.P. Tom: You were such a great guy and mentor to me during my 3 years at AMI. I'll miss your goofy laugh & witty remarks. You made the years I spent there fun & worth going to work for. I wouldn't have made it without you there. May we all find peace knowing you're shining brightly up in heaven now. ❤️

Rest in peace Tom. I first remember him sitting at his desk when we both worked at Forbes magazine years ago then later at American Media. He was one of those rare coworkers that worked hard and was easy to get along with.

I’m so heartbroken to hear about Tom. He was one of the funniest, wittiest and smartest guys I’ve known in the magazine production industry. He clearly was so dedicated to his job having spent 19 years at AMI often pulling long nights closing magazines and never complaining. I worked with Tom at AMI for five years sitting next to him everyday for the first few years. I stared out knowing very little about production. He was patient and thorough and I learned so much from him and ultimately managed my own titles because of his training. I often found it comforting listening to him order his lunch everyday or listening to the baseball game on his computer. Later on as everyone in the production group got closer we had such a blast going out after work. Tom was always there and up for a good time. He was just the funniest guy and made everyone laugh. I’m so grateful I crossed paths with him, but will miss him so much. ?

So sad to hear the news of Tom’s passing. Sending my condolences to his family and friends. I will miss the jokes about it never being too early to start drinking on deadline day. He made the stress of these days seem easy. He was kind, sweet and funny guy. He will be dearly missed, may he rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Tom through several companies and he was a great guy. We would laugh endlessly about so many things and had a few adventures along the way. Really sad to see this terrible news.

We lost a great friend. So incredibly sad. Tommy always brought a smile to people's faces. He had such a fantastic sense of humor. So many great memories from high school and beyond. Intense wiffle ball games in your driveway, visits to Oneonta, part of our wedding party, ski trips. So many stories. We will truly miss you bro, you were one of a kind. Rest in peace Tommy (you pineapple!)

Tom was one of the first people i met when i started at STAR magazine 15 years ago. His easy going personality, and quick sense of humor led us to be fast friends. Through all the years we worked together, he was always there to lend a hand, step in when he was needed, send a funny STAR WARS gif to make my day, and toss in a joke even when things were down. Even after Covid sent the office home to remote, we always remained in touch, not just for work, but also just to check in and share a laugh. It's hard to wrap my head around him not being a phone call away. GOD rest your soul my friend. I will miss you terribly, and remember you always.
