It's been exactly one year and through that year, Vinnie has often come to mind. He gave me a gift which only a lucky few others in this world have known, that of a lifetime friendship. I miss you, Vinnie. John
Aishat Nauzo left a message on December 30, 2021:
Mr. Cirelli was such an amazing and brilliant Physics teacher. He taught me physics, while I attended Gateway Highschool in Queens, NY during 11th grade in 1998. Although this was over 20 years ago, I still remember my experience like it was yesterday. Since I planned to pursue a career in aviation as a pilot, I knew that I needed to learn as much as I could from him to grasp the foundation of physics before going off to college. I remember spending countless hours after school with Mr. Cirelli doing problem after problem, calculation, after calculation. Mr. Cirelli was the type of teacher where he was very willing to put in as much time and effort in helping you as you needed. I truly appreciated his patience and gift of breaking down every aspect of what I needed help with learning. I remember how his face would light up every time I or any other student would finally get a concept down he was trying to teach, because that is what mattered to him. He would always refer to us as "beautiful people". Mr. Cirelli is such an amazing teacher, beautiful soul with a beautiful uplifting spirit. Year after year when I reflect, I remember how fortunate and blessed I was to have a teacher who sincerely cared about his students learning to prepare them for their future. Mr. Cirelli you had a tremendous impact in my life in further perpetuating my joy of learning. Till this day, I appreciate you and you will be missed. Rest in peace! -Aishat Nauzo

A great educator whom I owe for enabling me to appreciate science and understand the beauty that searching for knowledge brings. I know that I am not alone in this train of thought when I say the world has lost a rare gem that can not be replaced. Rest in peace.

Karla Casado left a message on December 3, 2021:
Mr. Cirelli was an amazing educator who touched so many students. I graduated more than a decade ago and I still remember his 4th floor classroom at Queens Gateway. He was always cheerful and willing to help anyone. I remember during tests, he would go around and help us if we were stuck on a problem just to watch our lightbulb turn on once we figured it out. Education lost a great one! We need more teachers like Mr. Cirelli! Teachers who care! Although I’m a counselor, I hope to make at least half the impact on my students, as Mr. Cirelli had on me. It was an honor to have him as a teacher. May he rest in peace.

Our hearts are broken… but he will never be forgotten. I will miss you until we meet again in heaven. Rest In Peace my dear Uncle Vinnie All our love, Laura, Anthony, Olivia, Angelena, and Joseph

Vinnie was something special and don't think of that as a cliché. He was Best Man at Judy's and my wedding on Christmas Day of 1977. I've never known anyone else who would have taken time from his own family to serve in that role on that day. The world has lost someone very special, very special indeed.
