Vincent Mirra, formerly of Massapequa, NY, passed away peacefully with his loving wife at his side on January 6, 2023. Vincent was born on July 2, 1941, in Manhattan as the only child to Joseph and Frances (nee.Filardi). He grew up in Ozone Park, as part of a first generation Italian-American family, enjoying weekend get-togethers with his cousins. After serving in the United States Army, he went on to work for the Metropolitan Transit Authority as an electrical technician in Coney Island for 37 years. As he reached the end of his twenties, he began his biggest legacy by dating Kathleen Weems, a teacher from Yonkers, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed vacations to Montauk, Pennsylvania, and the Jersey Shore. In retirement, he enjoyed caring for his home, spending time with his precious grandchildren, and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by Kathleen, his three children Karena, Barbara Burns (Robert), and Joseph (Kathryn), his sister-in-law Teresa, his nephew Kyle, and his seven grandchildren, Jack, Christopher, Matthew, Breezlynn, Vivian, Grayson and Abigail.
He will be remembered by all who knew him with much love!
