Vincent T. Miles, born May 8, 1934, in St. Albans, Queens, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022.
The eldest child of Vincent and Anna Miles, Vincent was also the big brother (a.k.a “The Dauphin”) to twin sisters Ellen Hughes (John) and Anne Guidry (Bob). Beloved husband to Roseanne, the love of his life for 52 years, and devoted father to Kevin (Reggie), Brian (Denise), Sean (Susan) and Sharon (John). Vincent was the proud grandfather to Patrick (Lisa), Christopher (Tina), Meghan (Aaron), Erin (David), Jessica, Matthew (Nicole), James (Alex), Victoria and Julia. Vincent was blessed to welcome two great-grandchildren Maisie Rose and Ailis Therese and one little angel on the way. Vincent served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1961. Vincent worked for Pan American World Airways in NYC and at JFK as an accountant for 34 years. Some of Vincent’s greatest joys was traveling the globe with his wife, Roseanne, by his side. A devoted member of the men’s group, “The Romeos”, Vincent enjoyed lunching with his friends each week. The Miles Family’s wish is for all those to remember our father, our grandfather and great-grandfather as a man of kindness, grace and tenderness. He also possessed an incredible dry-wit sense of humor; a characteristic his family members all inherited from him. Those of you who knew Vincent, knew he lost his vision many years ago, but the darkness did not stop him from loving life and celebrating it every day. We leave you with this quote from Helen Keller which speaks volumes as to how our father lived his life.
“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart”.
Rest in Peace Dad, soak in the beauty of the Light….until we meet again.
With love and thankfulness from your children,
Kevin Miles, Brian Miles, Sean Miles and Sharon Geiselmann
