William Patrick Bradley
October 18, 1957 – May 1, 2025
William “Omar” Bradley, born in Rockville Centre and raised in Massapequa, NY, passed away on May 1, 2025, in Babylon, NY. He was 67.
If you ever met Bill, chances are he told you a story. Maybe it was about a Sailin’ Shoe lacrosse game or the time his boat’s engine failed while going for a “scrape” around the Great South Bay — but always with a purpose: to teach you something or make you laugh (ideally both). Bill was a natural storyteller, a diehard Yankees and Giants fan, and above all, a devoted father.
He graduated from Berner High School and Plymouth State College before taking over his family’s business, but his proudest role was being a dad. Raising his daughters, Lindsay and Courtney, was the great joy of his life. He loved them deeply and showed up for every game, meet, and milestone with full-hearted enthusiasm (and occasionally too much volume from the sidelines).
Bill shared 20 years of marriage with his wife Debbie, his teammate in life. Together they traveled and snowboarded together — from the beaches of Palm Beach to the mountains of Park City, always chasing adventure and good company.
He was happiest behind the helm of a boat & could navigate a marina better than most people can parallel park. Some of his most cherished memories were taking his daughters and their friends tubing until sunset — always trying to dump them in the water, with cheers when they managed to stay afloat.
Bill is survived by his wife Debbie, daughters Lindsay and Courtney Bradley, his brothers Bruce (Sheri) and Neil (Sylvia), cousins, Mary, Lynn (Danny), Pat (Tom), Donna (Wayne) and nieces and nephews Jessica, Lauren, Matthew, Tara, and Mariana — all of whom will carry his stories forward.
A wake will be held Wednesday, May 7th 2-4pm and 7-9pm, with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 8 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Babylon. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bill’s life with love, laughter, and of course, a good story.
