Our beloved husband, father, and brother. David Michael Maloney 52, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

David was born in New York, raised in Florida, and has been a long time Long Islander. He was an NYPD officer, 9/11 first responder, and business owner. He was a very loving and devoted husband to his wife Diana Maloney and father to his five children. David Michael Maloney, Kaitlyn Marie Gallagher, Daniel Vincent James Maloney, Daxton Michael Maloney, and Demi Aurora Maloney. David also leaves behind his first grandchild Liam Alexander Gallagher and his four sisters Deb Dorfman, Kimberly Copp, Michelle Young, and twin sister Melissa Fabrikant. David loved life, was a loyal and caring friend and left a lasting impact on everyone he knew. There was no one like him. He will be dearly missed as he reunites with his parents Mike and Clara Maloney.

Dear David. You are such a blessing to me. You and Missy were born on March 1, 1973. I graduated from High school in June 1973. I always said the twins (you and Missy) were my graduation prest from Aunt Clara and Uncle Mike that year. My fondest memory of you is when we were shopping in then, KMART in Latham, ny. Both of you were about 5 years old at the time. You wanted the newest toy out that summer. It was called Spiderman crime lab. It cost $ 40 and I had not gotten my first pay check from my new job yet. I bought Missy a less expensive toy. You really wanted the crime lab toy. After several times trying to convince me there were several older women around us. Watching what I was going to do. All of them were trying to kindly persuade me to buy it for you. The last thing you said to me was, but you are my fairy godmother. All the women kept saying is you are his fairy godmother get it for him. I was totally embarrased. Remember I finally caved in and bought it for you. You never stopped hugging and kissing me for it. I am proud to always be your fairy godmother. Love always. Your cousin Lillian and your fairy godmother. Just to set the record straight, I really have only one God child and she is your twin.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Such a great man, Always a stand up guy and a light in every room. I remember the conversations we would have with such vibrancy and detail, My condolences to his family and rest in peace Dave.

Dave, I am grateful we had time to talk over this past month . We finally cleared so many issues . I wish you were still here because I am sure things would have been different from here on out . Your kids are crushed and I have to see them through this somehow . We have been through so much in life as a family, but this is a whole different level . I met Dave years ago, and I was lucky to have him as a boss. He was always there to help me and guide me even though he didn’t have to. The man was always straightforward and to the point. I still find the news of his passing to be unbelievable. He opened the doors to his home and invited me around his family. His son Dave was always a great friend to me. Dave always remembered my birthday & was always easy to talk to. He will always be remembered by me as a man that loves his family and his children dearly & as a human that always extended help and the doors to his home. He was always inviting and easy to talk to. I hope he knows how much he was loved and how he touched people. He will always be remembered because he was the kind of person worth remembering.

David, We are going to miss you so much. Wayne will miss all your concerts you went too and all your calls. You were very close and special to him. He said you remember the last two concerts and what happened best time ever. From me you will always be my baby brother. You were a comedian awesome brother and father. My favorite times were our calls talking laughing crying and just needed to talk. And can't forget how much you hounded missy with all the pictures of Trump you were so funny. Even though I can't make it for health reasons I am there in spirit. I know you are right next to daddy/mommy and at peace. You were a true devoted catholic and loved god and Jesus as much as they love you. That gives me a little comfort even though I am selfish and wish you were here. It's incredibly hard for me to put into words the depth and impact of this sudden loss. Dave has touched the lives of so many around us. His presence brought light, comfort, and laughter, and now that he is gone it hurts more than we ever expected. While we have talked during conversations the silence and pause when his name comes up especially in all of the shared memories, brings both tears and smiles. I see the way everyone is trying to hold each other together in this grief, and it's both heartbreaking and deeply moving. Please know you're not alone in this pain and we are all here for your family, I am sending all my love as you carry each other through.
