Geraldine Patricia “Cherry” Pike was born and raised in North Adams, Massachusetts. Cherry married Douglas Pike, an electrical engineer and the couple relocated to Long Island in 1953 where she and her family attended the Massapequa Presbyterian Church. While raising her three daughters Janet, Jo-Anne and Jill, she was involved in many aspects of their school activities. Cherry was involved and volunteered with the Massapequa Quilters and the Seafood Thrift Shop. She worked for many years at the Southeast Nassau Guidance Center. Cherry loved Major League Baseball and her favorite teams were Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees!
When asked what attributed to her long life, she said “Giving to others and getting lots of love in return, always made me very happy.”
Cherry is survived by her daughters, Jo-Anne Pike Brintrup and Jill Ann Pike, son-in-law Richard Brintrup and grandson Randyn Brintrup. Also, many nieces and nephews and friends. Cherry is predeceased by her beloved husband, Douglas Pike and loving daughter, Janet. A private cremation will be held with a . Memorial Service to be Sunday, 25 June 2023 at the Massapequa Funeral Home, Massapequa Park, New York. Burial will be at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
