Janet Ann Newman, 75, of Massapequa Park, passed away suddenly on August 16, 2025.  She was born on October 25^th, 1949, in Queens, New York, to Paul and Ann Campanaro. Janet was a devoted daughter, loving wife to her husband George, a most caring mother to their two daughters, Andrea and Kristen, and an amazing grandmother to 4 grandchildren: Nicholas, Alexis, Owen, and Shane.

After starting her career as an executive assistant on Wall Street, she found her passion helping people as a medical billing expert working in doctors’ offices.

Janet’s life always revolved around family. She was a rock and the first call in time of need, and an incredible Italian host for every special occasion.

When Janet was not running with her kids to karate, swimming, or cheerleading, she was the first to volunteer for every opportunity at school: from class mom to lunch duty, and every class trip. Janet and George were passionate Disney fans and loved treating their daughters and grandkids to the happiest place on earth. She also loved her dogs, especially German Shepherds, having owned 9 of them over her life.

Janet was truly someone special.  She carried warmth and kindness wherever she went and had a remarkable way of making strangers feel like lifelong friends.  She was the neighbor who always showed up, the friend who answered every call, and the steady presence you could always count on.  We are grateful for the love and memories she gave so freely.
