Josephine Puleo, age 78, of West Islip,  passed away on April 23, 2020. Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Roseann Styczynski and Diane McGrath. Loving mother-in-law to Gary Styczynski and Robert McGrath. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Erin, Eleanor, and Timothy. Dear sister of Vincent Mannino(Margaret), John Mannino(Lori), and Marianne  Denner(Richard). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Cherished by cousins. Josie’s greatest joy was being surrounded by people she loved enjoying what she was most passionate about, camping. Personal condolences and remembrances can be left on the website of the Massapequa Funeral Home. A celebration of Josie’s life will be held at a later date.

This has been very hard for me to find the words to tell you how much I love Josie. She has been a part of my life since I was a little.girl. She's been a big sister to me a companion a friend. We have shared so many memories and stories together. And they're wonderful memories. My heart breaks thinking that she's no longer here with us. But she's in a much better place. She might be with God ,but we have her in our hearts and on our minds. Love you Josie Miss you tremendously. You've been the best friend and a great sister to me and to all of us. ???

Mom. What can be said other than I will miss you forever. You were the best mother anyone could ask for and I hope that I am half the mother you were to Diane and I to my children. She was affectionately called "Lucy" for her funny antics and I think I will miss that the most. Love you forever Mom.

Words cannot express how sadden we are for the loss of Josie. Our super 1st cousin. Godmother. A big sister to all us cousins. She taught us all about camping. We had the best childhood camping with Josie. Always so proud of her Grandchildren. We will miss her so much.
