In Loving Memory of Marie Cecelia Knight
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marie Knight, on December 31, 2024. She left us peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, and her departure has left an irreplaceable void in our lives.
Marie was born on July 1,1936 in Pittston, PA, daughter of Peter and Mary Butera. From a young age, she exhibited a profound sense of compassion and kindness, traits that would define her throughout her life. She dedicated herself to her family with unwavering love, always putting the needs of others before her own.
As a mother, she was our rock, our source of strength and guidance. Her nurturing spirit and boundless patience shaped us into who we are today. She taught us the values of kindness, resilience, and integrity, and her lessons will continue to guide us for the rest of our lives.
Marie is a graduated of Marywood University. She worked as Home Economics Teacher in the Roosevelt School District, NY, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues and students alike. She resigned from teaching to dedicate herself to raising her family. Her commitment to excellence and her work ethic were second to none.
Beyond her professional and familial responsibilities, Marie had a passion for sewing, cooking, and gardening. She found joy in sewing and gardening, and it was a source of happiness and relaxation for her. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she loved sharing her interests with her loved ones.
Marie leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of her 3 children, and 6 grandchildren, and all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Knight, who she married in 1962. She is survived by Sister Patricia Nocerini (Roger), Children (Trisha Brackman (Norman), Roger Knight (Meg), Scott Knight (Cindy)), and Grandchildren (Jillian, Emma, Rachel, Peter, Riley, Addison). Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the indelible mark she left on this world.
Though she may no longer be with us in person, Marie’s spirit will forever remain in our hearts. She has left an enduring legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to inspire us every day. We find solace in the knowledge that she is now at peace and reunited with those who have gone before her.
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will be forever missed and eternally loved.
With deepest love and memories,
