Rose Laudisio left a message on April 12, 2025:
In Loving Memory of Marie Barwood 1934 – 2025 What made Marie truly special was her infectious laugh, her old soul wisdom, and the rare, unforgettable uniqueness she carried so effortlessly. Born in England in 1934, Marie immigrated to America in 1956 with her husband, Anton, and their 4-year-old daughter, Renata. Together, they built a life grounded in hard work, resilience, and family. Marie later welcomed two more children, Rose and Stephen. In 1976, she experienced the heartbreak of losing Stephen—a loss that she carried with quiet strength and grace. Marie had an extraordinary ability to lift any occasion with her warm presence, her kind nature, and her sharp, witty English humor. She embodied grace under pressure and taught those around her the true meaning of endurance, optimism, and authenticity. A hardworking and devoted mother, Marie gave endlessly to her family. Her love wasn’t loud, but it was constant, steady, and unwavering. In August of last year, Marie was diagnosed with bladder cancer—the same illness that took her beloved Anton in 2003. Through her final months, she was surrounded by the deep care and love of her daughters. Renata, who lived with her, created a peaceful, stable home—just what Marie desired. Rose brought food, laughter, and warmth, adding joy to Marie’s days. Even in her final chapter, Marie’s humility and deep appreciation for life never waned. One day, she walked into her room and said, “Who would have ever thought that Marie Barwood would live in such a beautiful place.” She found joy in simplicity and led a minimalist life by choice—offering her family an inspiring example of contentment, perspective, and grace. Marie will be remembered not just for the life she lived, but for the love she gave, the strength she modeled, and the legacy of humor, resilience, and kindness she left behind.
