My sincerest condolences to Mike's family. Mike worked so hard building the NYPD Counterterrorism Division. He served in a role that far out matched his rank. He was a great leader at a crucial time in the history of NYC after 9/11. None who worked with him in those days will forget his passion and dedication. A great man gone far to soon. I am privileged to have worked with him. Don't forget.

Michael, So many people knew you as a consummate professional, a leader, a dedicated police officer who loved, respected, and cherished all your brothers and sisters in blue. A true american patriot! A 911 hero ♡ And you know what its all so very true - an amazing resume of your life, character, and passions.... But for me there was a time where you were a brother I felt I didnt have, a reason to change my life, a role model for me and my children. An ice hockey opponent, someone to be silly with, a rollercoaster partner, and a man who always made me feel loved & cherished. I never did get to tell you how those moments in time impacted my life, to thank you for treating me like I was family, someone special. So here I am writing this to you as a silent eulogy wishing I would have told you all this person. A sad reality of the human condition where we allow time and circumstance to impact our relationships so blindly forgetting there could be a time when one remains and the other moves onto the next journey. Michael Im here to say my earthly goodbye and thank you for all my amazing memories... You earned your wings and a place nestled deeply in my heart for always. Until we meet again brother let the love go on.... Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet. Let it not be a death but completeness. Let love melt into memory and pain into songs. Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings over the nest. Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night. Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your last words in silence. I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way. May peace find you lifting away the suffering you endured which was so unfair and unjust and in this passing the joyous reuniting with souls that have gone before you. You will never be forgotten... I first served with Mike in the NYPD where he was a true leader in the Department’s counterterrorism program protecting New York City from another terrorist attack.
