Ann Dorothy Wilson Ventricelli went to her heavenly home on January 15, 2022, after a long battle with several debilitating ailments. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Ann was 87 years old. Though Ann’s health was failing for years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her devotion to family, joy for life with them and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain.
It would be wrong to say that Ann lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Ann stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Ann. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.
Ann epitomized the expression “there is no greater love than a mother’s love of her children.” Ann’s four children and 13 grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. Although Ann will be terribly missed, the legacy of Ann’s kind and caring spirit, strong will and devotion to family will live on through them.
Ann had a deep Catholic faith and love for the Lord. She rejoins her loved ones, including her beloved husband Mike, mom Catherine, father John, her sisters Catherine and Barbara, and in-laws Giovanna and Donato. She is survived by her children, daughters Patty and Michelle, sons Daniel and Michael (and their spouses, Fred, Joe, Karen, and Coleen, respectively), 13 grandchildren (Michael, Nicholas, Amanda, Daniel, Olivia, Brianna, Christina, Julianna, Stefanie, Kristin, Kimberly, Michael, and Steven),brothers Arthur and Johnny (and his spouse Felice), sister-in-law Sister Mary Neil Ventricelli and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her. They invite you to join them to commemorate her life at Massapequa Funeral Home, 1050 Park Blvd, Massapequa, New York on Friday January 21, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm with a funeral Mass at Maria Regina Church, 3945 Jerusalem Avenue, Seaford, New York on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 9:45am.
Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
