Barbara will always be loved and missed. I have so many wonderful memories over all the years we have known each other and will cherish them always: All the years we went out to breakfast to celebrate the first day of school each year. Painting plaster craft pieces every week.. The Christmas gift game that was always so much fun. Hanging wall paper. Just having a cup of coffee or tea or a glass of wine. Celebrating happy occasions and sharing sad times. She called me every Thanksgiving morning. She will not be gone as long as she is remembered by those who loved her.
Alida & Bob Durej and Joe Reina left a message on December 26, 2020:
We are very saddened to hear about Barbara’s passing and our hearts go out to Johnny and all their children and grandchildren with our sincerest sympathy. Barbara was a very caring person who clearly showed her devotion and love for her entire family. Barbara always had a beautiful smile and laugh and was eager to please or help when needed. Birthdays and Christmas holidays were special to Barbara. She took great joy shopping and buying unique presents for her family, especially taking them on excursions into the city. We were fortunate to be invited many times for dinner. Barbara and Johnny were the most gracious hosts and made us always feel welcomed – not to mention an abundance of delicious food aimed to please! Barbara liked to share personal stories about her beautifully displayed collections. One very touching memory is how much Barbara and Johnny cared about our parents, Iris and Joe, and visited them often. When they weren’t well and at the end of their lives, Johnny and Barbara came to give them a laugh or two. They supported all of us at a time when we really needed it. Barbara will always have a special place in our hearts. We are so sorry that her family lost her too soon and must go on without her. We hope all the beautiful memories of Barbara’s special love and caring will comfort them forever.
