Caroline F. Spatarella2/24/1926 – 12/29/2018 Caroline Francis Zollo Spatarella, age 92, passed away on Saturday, December 29th at Dominican Village in Amityville, NY. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived there until moving to Massapequa, Long Island in 1972. She was one of the youngest of ten brothers and sisters and is survived by her younger sister, Mary. In 1952, she married Frank Spatarella and had three children: James, Joseph and Carolyn. Her marriage to Frank lasted 66 years and brought them their grandchildren: Alexis (Dovel), Regina (Ball), Tyler and Crystal (Noonan). Caroline attended elementary school and then helped with the care of her parent’s large family. She also worked in the family fruit and vegetable store for a time until she went to work in a factory during World War II. After her marriage, she was a homemaker and full-time mom. She supported Frank in his many organizational roles in The Holy Name Society, National Association of Postal Supervisors, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and, the Knights of Columbus. They were always together and regularly traveled to conferences around the country. Caroline was devoted to her family and made a point of showing love, mainly in the form of making sure you always had food in front of you. She always looked up to her many brothers and was close to her sisters and often missed them all in later years.
