Miss u boss. Still can’t believe you’re gone!

Coach Sarro was an inspiration and a saving grace for the Marathon Wrestling Team(2016-2017). He was a quiet and friendly leader who helped them become better wrestlers and young people, while taking classes at SUNY Cortland. He is in memory in this year's MCS wrestling program, by Coaches Bill Perks, Dan Gormley and Tyler Beckwith. I don't know how many first aid kits I bought that year to help out the team, but it certainly was a running joke!:) Chris, RIP and to the Sarro family-we met you at the Section IV sectionals in Binghamton. He was well thought of and will be missed.

It's been months and it still doesn't feel real. I miss the jokes and the pep talks and the constant reminders that you're proud of me or that you'll always be there for me.

We did not know Christopher but can estimate his dignity and grandeur, because we know his parents. and the parents’ excellence often lives in the child. To those who knew him, call his name. Chris will be missed by his friends at Powells Lane School. He always had a smile on his face. He was loved by all the students and was a great teacher. He was kind, always helpful, and funny. I’ll miss seeing him at Tobay beach in the summer. My prayers go out to his family. May you find peace in your hearts and minds. He will be remembered and missed by so many people.

We can only imagine how difficult this time is for your family. I know that today will be so difficult for you to say goodbye to him, and I pray that God will give you strength as He opens his arms to welcome Christopher home. Mr. Sarro was a great phys. Ed teacher that I've ever had and he was just inspiring since freshmen year. The first year he was just very welcoming and cheered every student on in the track field. It was good having him.

I didn’t know Mr.Sarro very long this was my first year with him and sadly my last, but I can say that with the amount of time I spent with him he was the most genuine and amazing guy. You could really tell how much he really cared for every student and he wasn’t just a teacher for many he was a friend and he truly will forever be in our hearts.

You were a role model for all of us students in ace, we didn't just see you as just a teacher, we saw you as a friend, someone comfortable to talk to and just be around. We miss you man, rest up.

Chris was a great kid that turned out to be a great man. He’s was always polite and respectful to my family and me. Even when saw him at the beach. Was so good to my 2 sons. Adam and Andrew. He stood in Andrews corner and coached him. So very saddened, loss of a great prodigy.

We connected through our shared love for the ocean and surfing, and kept in touch through the years. The last time I saw you was at a beach cleanup we had at Robert Moses a few years back, I was stoked that you came out to support us. You will be missed my man, until we meet again. When we were in High School, Chris had a star named for me. Twelve years later it’s still one of the most thoughtful and special gift I’ve ever received, and it always will be. That was just Chris. My deepest condolences to Mr. and Mrs. Sarro and the whole Sarro family. I worked with Chris, aka Mr. Sarro at ACE. Every morning I would see him walking down the hall carrying a net full of basketballs or volleyballs. He would look up and smile at me and I then back at him. If I needed to find something or help a student, I would ask him because he never said no to any favor. I would always thank him. He would always say with a sincere smile, "Anything for you Qureshi." We would joke and laugh and this continued for the whole four years I worked with him. He was such a wonderful young man full of life. I looked at him and saw the future of my son and the future of a generation that needed him. He had the qualities everyone should have: kindness, competitiveness, a work ethic that was second to none, selflessness, passion about sports and the sea. What a wonderful soul! He impacted me and his students and all of the ACE community. We truly love him. He will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to his family.

I had been friends with Chris since Middle School. He always knew how to make everyone laugh. No matter how much time passed whenever we would cross paths there would never be an awkward moment. It breaks my heart that I won't be able to randomly bump into him again. I can't begin to fathom the pain Chris' family is feeling but I am confident he is with each one of you every day.

I'm so exceptionally heart sick for the family over this tragic loss. While we were cousins, unfortunately the family was so spread out we didn't have many occasions to come together. However, I still remember the perfect summer day when we were together at the Sarro house (I think Christopher was 6!) and spent the afternoon in the backyard playing soccer, enjoying the views, the sunshine, and our family. I hold that day in a special place in my heart. Gone, but truly not forgotten.

I am sorry to learn of this sad news. Please accept my deepest condolences to the Sarro family. An amazing co-worker and friend that put a smile on my face on a daily basis. Another Tobay lifeguard gone too soon. Chris was well on his way to joining the ranks of the long haulers. He was following in the footsteps of many lifeguards down at Tobay. He realized that teaching, coaching and summers down at the beach was a great life few are lucky enough to experience. Chris will be rembered as avid waterman, who could be counted on to carry out all the responsibilities of ocean lifeguard. His time on the beach might have been cut short but his legacy will last in the hearts of those guards who were lucky enough to have worked with him. Rest in peace Chris you will be missed. Tc
