HARTUNG, Donald on September 15, 2021. Don Hartung passed away peacefully at home in Massapequa knowing he was loved deeply by family and friends. A devoted husband of 56 years and high school sweetheart to Hilary. A loving father of Eric, David and Brian. An adoring father-in-law to Heather, Adrienne and Jessica. A cherished grandfather to Greta, Aidan, Ava, Cole, Will, Eli, Louisa and Luke. A dedicated brother-in-law to Harvey Like and Linda Panetta. A trusted friend to many. All hold Donnie’s kindness, sense of humor, and respectfulness close to their hearts.

While Parkinson’s Disease robbed him of so much, his legacy of what he created throughout his life surrounds many of us. A carpenter by trade and partner with Glenbury Builders, he was a true artist and craftsman. From custom homes, to furniture, to bird and duck decoys, to dorm room lofts, he did it all with creativity and perfection.

Don’s life, marked by family, friends, the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, TOBAY Beach, Massapequa High School and so much more will be celebrated on Sunday October 10^th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Massapequa Funeral Home, South Chapel, 4980 Merrick Road, Massapequa Park.
