Ernest A. Reinhardt of Stamford, Vermont passed away this past Tuesday April 3rd 2018 at 90 years of age. Ernest A. Reinhardt of Stamford, Vermont passed away this past Tuesday April 3rd 2018 at 90 years of age. Ernest is survived by his daughter Karen McKenna (Jack III) of Massapequa N.Y. and his son Richard Reinhardt (Patrice Davis) of St. Petersburg Fl. He had 5 grandchildren Kaitlyn DeGennaro (Rob), Mary Rohrs (Ted), Kristin Reinhardt, John McKenna IV and Tiffany Smith (Josh) and 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily Rose, Noah, Emily Ann and Amelia.Ernest served in the United States Navy from March of 1946 and was Honorable Discharged January 20th 1948. While in service Ernest served on both the USS Robert I Paine (DE 578) and the USS Putnam (DD 757), and received the World War II Victory Medal.Ernest worked for 35 years for a company called Adams and Payne a printing company located in Manhattan NY. When they went out of business he went to Brooklyn Tech and learned how to type via system called offset printing. He essentially learned his profession all over again due to the advent of computers. He finished his career as a financial printer at Sorg Inc in New York City.Ernest lived his life as he pleased. He left Richmond Hill, N.Y. and moved to Stamford, Vermont in 1991. Unfortunately he parted the mountains of Vermont at the beginning of March 2018, and was admitted to Rehab shortly before he left us.Ernest enjoyed the simpler things in life. He could always be found working on various projects around his home in Vermont and watching Jeopardy and Law and Order regularly. Throughout his life he loved spending time on the beaches of both Rockaway and Long Island.Ernest will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
