Frank P. Speck, 96 lifetime resident of Massapequa, N.Y. went home to the lord and his wife Dorothy on September 14, 2020. A devoted husband, father and uncle, Frank served in WW2 as a machinist mate 2nd class petty officer/plane captain in the south pacific. He worked for Mobil Oil as a gasoline truck driver. He joined the Massapequa Fire Dept. in 1954 serving 66 years as a volunteer fireman. Frank was an avid bowler and golfer his whole life and also a NY Mets baseball fan. For a time in the 70’s he was the band leader in the Fire dept and was involved in many shows put on at the firehouse. After the death of his son Steven in 1986, he immersed himself in finding his WW2 buddies from his 2 squadrons and traveled the country with his wife Dorothy for the next 20 years having Navy reunions. After the loss of the love of his life Dorothy, he was never the same. He was funny, respectful, hardworking and caring for other peoples needs. Frank will always be remembered for these qualities. Frank will be sorely missed and loved forever. Frank is survived by his daughter Debbie and son Michael and niece Dorothy Sinnott and nephewTony Maccagnano. The memorial service will be held at the Massapequa Funeral Home north chapel on Friday September 18, 2020 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm followed by a mass service at St William the Abbott in Seaford, NY on Saturday September 19, 2020 at 9:30am.
