To The Family of Gary Panzl: I had the pleasure of meeting Gary when I started working for UPS. I was a package driver for then the Queens Relief Center in 1988 and Gary was my manager. He wasn’t just my manager but became my friend and mentor. True Dave Mazzola was my immediate supervisor but ultimately the buck stop with Gary. He was a gentleman, he gave his time, knowledge, respected everyone’s feelings and treated you with the same respect you showed, he was truly beyond reproach. He guided me to advance into management and lent his knowledge and insights on the demands and the rewards of a management position. Paths in UPS cross all the time and unfortunately in most cases timing is not always on your side. I was always grateful for meeting, knowing and being able to call him my partner and friend in UPS. When I came to a dilemma in my job or a problem I would think of Gary and would say what would Gary do, things always worked out. May he be at peace, I know he will be his families guardian angel, just finding out this early morning hour of 3:30 AM this Jan 13, 2024, I will try to pay my respects this weekend at St Charles Cemetery. Prayers and condolences and love to the Panzl family. Richard.

Kristine and I were saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. We hold Gary and all who love and care for him in our hearts and prayers. Time shared with the Panzl family are precious memories for the Hernandez clan. Offering Gary a ride home from the train station, (which he never accepted) became a running joke between us, although he once let me take his briefcase home in a pouring rain. A wonderful husband and father he will be missed, it is an honor to be his friend Steve Hernandez

My most heartfelt condolences to Gary’s family and friends. I worked for and along side Gary many times in our years together at UPS. He was always a gentleman. All I can remember are the laughs and smiles! He was one of the best! God Bless.

Eli, Daniel and Jonathan, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Gary. Although it has been some time since we moved from NY I will always cherish the time I had spend working together with Gary. Over the years I shared more than UPS with him as we both grew up in Ridgewood and shared many stories of our childhood, playing sports in the park by the RR tracks. I have many fond memories working with Gary over the years in Maspeth, Fresh Meadows and Manhattan Gary. I always considered Gary much more than one of my bosses at UPS, as a friend. A role model and friend who i learned so much from over the years and one who introduced me to the wonderful community of Massapequa where I was married and lived for several years. I regret that I am unable to attend the services as I now live in St.Louis and will keep you all in my prayers so that God may comfort you during this sad time. David Hopkins
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Gary was a wonderful guy...a co-worker and friend....although time passed us by over the years, I will always cherish the daily laughs we had in Laurelton ( UPS ). When you interacted with Gary, you always moved on feeling a little better about things...To his wife Ellie and his sons....God has just added yet another Angel...as he was then...as he is now...
