George L. Geter Sr. was born March 8, 2029, to the late Jeff Geter and Queenie Rice Geter. George peacefully departed this life on February 25, 2024, while at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

At an early age George accepted the Lord as his personal Savior while at Honey Ford Baptist Church as a child.

George was educated in Bamberg County’s public school system. He worked as a Foreman on a construction crew to lay roads for the state of New York. He was an active member of Union Local no. 1298 until the date of death.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Inabell Washington on May 26, 1945. The union was blessed with four children, one whom preceded him in death (Ruthalee Geter).

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters: Eartha B. Gowins of Brooklyn, New York and Betty Brown of Brooklyn, New York. One son: George Geter Jr. (Diamond) of Brooklyn, New York. He also has a host of Grand-children, Great-Grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will also remember him lovingly.
