We here at Massapequa Funeral Home, are committed to taking precautionary measures for the families we serve, our staff & the community. In light of the current circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 Pandemic, all funeral services for Glen were private.  Personal condolences may be left on our website for the family. Sympathy Cards may be mailed to the funeral home, which we will forward onto the family for you.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that on Wednesday April 1st 2020, Glen J Greenman, Loving Husband and Father passed away at the age of 72.

Glen was born December 25th 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Marvin and Rita Greenman.

He was a Teacher and then a Principal for many years in the New York Public School System.

Glen had a passion for making people laugh and would often tell the same three jokes to anyone that would listen. He also loved The Beatles and would listen to their number one hits album on repeat while barbecuing or gardening. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Glen was preceded in death by his father Marvin and his mother Rita as well as his Wife Joan. He is survived by his sons Lee and Anthony, his daughter Marianne and his many, many grandchildren.

A memorial and funeral service will be held at a later date, which will be provided after the Covid -19 Pandemic. Because of this we ask that in lieu of flowers those wanting to contribute to a charity of your choice do so in honor of Glen.

The candle I metaphorically light for you, Glen, isn't fuled by very old memories, but by more recent ones. I will remember you as strong enough to smile in the face of hard light and kind enough to laugh even at jokes you taught your son (and know quite well!) I will treasure the stories I get to hear from your wonderful son (and the many children you welcomed into your home and gave peace to) and I will learn them, one day, to tell beside the children who loved you so much and are still here, so that when they miss you very much, I can remind them of your love to them. I may have had the shortest time with you, however, I thank you for the pleasure of watching what you've nurtured grow into loving, wonderful, and kind human beings. You will be missed. Until we meet properly on the other side, have peace.
