Here is a truth about Hank (Sonny in the day). I am embarrassed to say in a space like this that I was the kind of kid who got good grades, and was lucky enough to go to college and even to MIT. I share that just so that you know that I have known a lot of really "smart" people, most a lot smarter than me. But the truth is Hank was one of the smartest people I ever knew in all the ways that really matter. Hank was so smart about people. He was smart about keeping priorities straight, and knowing that what is always most important are your friends and family, Smart enough to remember every story from a huge group of friends across 60 years, And especially smart enough to know that loving and laughing were the best way to spend the life hours he was given. I learned a lifetime of lessons from you Hank, and I will miss not just your laugh but your wisdom. Sorry to take liberties with one of your favorite quotes: "...and then the rains came, and sadly, you departed" -- Earl

Hi cousin, what a long strange trip it's been. Seems like yesterday we were watching the 1967 ice bowl over the grandparents house. 52 degrees below zero at that game. Sorry we never made it to see the Whalers while they were still in Hartford. Gonna miss you. RIP Sonny. Just remember: if the band your in starts singing different tunes, I'll meet you on the Dark side of the Moon. Love always, Tom & Margie Beechey

October 9, 2023 Terri Melia wrote a sympathy message “Dear Gina and Family There are no words of comfort that can fill the deep area of your heart at this time, nor can it ease the hurt. Be gentle to yourself. Know that friends and family are standing by to love and support you. You will get through this one day at a time. The love and memories will never go away. My husband Rich and Sonny were partners in crime. I'm sure Rich has welcomed Sonny to heaven, just know heaven will never be the same. My sincere condolences. Love Terri, Richie and Katie Melia”
